“The third time He said to him Do you love Me”
Peter’s denial echoed louder in his memory than any miracle he had witnessed. Scripture brings us to a shoreline where Jesus restored what shame had shattered. Three questions for three failures.
Jesus did not avoid Peter’s wound. He addressed it gently, truthfully, completely. Restoration requires honesty.
Jesus brought Peter back to the moment of collapse, not to punish him but to heal him. A man cannot rise above the failure he refuses to confront. Peter learned that love, not guilt, is the foundation of his calling.
Jesus entrusted him with care over His flock because a humbled man leads differently than a proud one. A man is truly restored when he realizes grace is stronger than his worst moment.
Father, heal the places in me where shame still speaks. Restore my confidence through Your love. Lead me into the purpose You have entrusted to me.
