“The Lord was with him.”
Joseph stood in prison, confined by injustice and forgotten by those he helped. Yet Scripture declares something that reframes the entire chapter. The Lord was with him.
Presence is God’s answer to places that feel restrictive. Joseph did not see doors opening. He did not feel vindicated.
He simply lived with integrity where he was. God’s presence strengthened his character long before his circumstances changed. Many men misunderstand favor.
They think it is proven by opportunities, recognition, or success. Scripture shows favor in Joseph’s life through endurance, consistency, and peace. A man anchored in God’s presence becomes unshakeable, even in the rooms he did not choose.
When the time came, Joseph walked out of prison carrying a strength formed in places no one applauded.
Father, remind me that Your presence is enough. Strengthen my character in the waiting. Help me honor You in every room, especially the ones that feel restricting.
