DAY 3 OF 365

Day 3

Verse
“All those who were in distress or in debt or discontented gathered around him and he became their commander.”
1 Samuel 22:2 NIV
Story

David’s leadership started in a cave, not a throne room. Scripture gathers around him men whose lives were unraveling. Distressed.

Indebted. Discontent. These were not the kind of men a king would choose, but they were the men God sent.

David did not learn leadership through comfort. He learned it through responsibility. The cave became his training ground.

It was there he discovered that greatness is forged in hidden places among broken men who needed direction more than perfection. God shapes leaders in environments that demand patience, humility, and strength. David’s cave was filled with men who carried wounds, fears, and failures, yet God used David to steady them.

A man becomes a leader when he learns to carry the weight of others without losing the character God is building within him. Before David ruled Israel, he learned to shepherd the hurting.

Prayer

Father, teach me to lead with compassion and patience. Shape my character in hidden places. Prepare me to influence others through humility and strength.
