“On this rock I will build My church.”
Matthew 16:18 NIV
Jesus spoke these words to Peter, revealing both identity and destiny. Scripture shows that Christ builds—not men. Peter’s revelation of Jesus as the Messiah became the foundation for the church’s formation.
A man becomes steady when he understands that Christ is the builder and he is the vessel. The strength of the church does not depend on human leadership alone but on divine construction. The gates of hell cannot prevail because Christ Himself builds what He begins.
Peter, once unstable, became a foundational leader because Christ shaped him. Jesus teaches that God builds strong things out of surrendered men.
Father, build my life on the foundation of Christ. Shape me into a man You can use. Strengthen my faith to stand firm in Your truth.
