“But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, “Lord, save me!””
Matthew 14:30 NIV
Peter walked on water until his focus shifted. Scripture shows that fear rises when vision diverts from Christ to circumstance. The wind did not change—Peter’s focus did.
A man becomes steady when he keeps his eyes on Christ in the middle of uncertainty. Sinking moments reveal where faith falters, but they also reveal where grace rescues. Jesus reached out immediately, showing that failure is not final.
Peter teaches that men sink when fear becomes louder than faith, but they rise when they cry out for help. Christ saves sinking men, not perfect ones. A man learns that focus determines stability.
Father, keep my eyes fixed on Christ. Lift me when fear rises. Strengthen my faith to stand firm on what You command.
