  1. Respectability can conceal the same need for grace found in obvious rebellion.
  2. The rich ruler was morally serious yet still confronted with the lordship of Christ.
  3. Salvation is reconciliation to God through Christ, not society's approval of our behavior.

Do not mock goodness. Good conduct is valuable, but it cannot bear the weight of justification.
