Paul challenges men to discipline their focus. Scripture teaches that the mind determines direction. When a man fixates on earthly things—status, fear, comparison—his life becomes unstable.
But when he fixes his thoughts on the things above, his life gains clarity and endurance. Setting the mind is intentional. It requires discipline.
A man becomes transformed when he trains his thoughts toward eternity rather than momentary anxieties. Paul understood the battle of the mind and the pull of the temporary. But he also knew that spiritual maturity grows when attention shifts from the earth to Christ.
A man’s peace, decisions, and character all begin with where his mind rests.
Father, redirect my focus toward what is eternal. Help me set my mind on the things above. Train my thoughts to align with Your truth.
