“When He has tested me I will come forth as gold.”
Job 23:10 NIV
Job speaks with quiet confidence amid confusion. He cannot trace God’s steps, but he trusts God’s purpose. Scripture reveals that testing refines a man’s character.
Job teaches that God uses pressure to purify and strengthen. A man becomes resilient when he believes that trials do not destroy him but shape him. Fire refines gold by removing what is impure.
Likewise, hardship exposes what needs transformation. A man learns that he emerges stronger, clearer, and more faithful when he submits to God’s refining work. Gold is formed in the furnace.
Father, refine me through Your testing. Remove what weakens my character. Bring me forth as gold by Your faithful work.
