“Father forgive them for they do not know what they are doing.”
Jesus spoke forgiveness from a place of unimaginable pain. Scripture shows Him offering mercy while nails held Him to the cross. Forgiveness in this moment was not softness.
It was authority. A man becomes Christlike when he chooses release over resentment. Forgiveness is not forgetting the wound.
It is refusing to let bitterness define the heart. Jesus demonstrated the highest form of strength — freeing those who could not free themselves. A man grows when he understands that unforgiveness binds him more tightly than the one who hurt him.
Jesus teaches that forgiveness is not optional for transformed men. It is essential.
Father, give me the strength to forgive where I have been wounded. Free my heart from bitterness. Let Your mercy shape the way I respond to others.
