“His word is in my heart like a fire a fire shut up in my bones.”
Jeremiah did not choose an easy calling. Scripture shows him wrestling with discouragement, frustration, and rejection. Yet the word of God burned within him.
He tried to remain silent, but obedience kept pushing him forward. Some men carry assignments they would never have chosen. Jeremiah’s fire was not emotional excitement.
It was conviction. A man becomes anchored when God’s word ignites something in him that comfort cannot extinguish. Jeremiah teaches us that calling is not always pleasant.
Sometimes it is fire. Sometimes it is weight. But when God’s hand rests on a man, he cannot retreat into silence.
The fire becomes his fuel. The word becomes his backbone. The burden becomes his shaping.
Father, ignite Your word within me. Give me courage to speak and act when You call. Strengthen me to carry the fire You place inside my heart.
