“Do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal that has come on you to test you.”
First Peter 4:12 NIV
Peter speaks honesty to believers facing intense hardship. Scripture reveals that fiery ordeals test faith not to destroy it but to strengthen it. A man becomes wiser when he understands that trials are expected in the Christian life.
Surprise leads to confusion, but understanding leads to steadfastness. Peter teaches that God uses fire to refine gold and uses hardship to refine faith. A man learns that faith grows stronger under pressure.
The test proves authenticity. The fire purifies motives and deepens resolve. Trials shape a man who trusts God through them.
Father, help me not be surprised by trials. Strengthen me to endure every test. Refine my faith through Your loving purpose.
