“Have I not commanded you Be strong and courageous Do not be afraid do not be discouraged for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”
Joshua faced a responsibility that could intimidate any man. Stepping into Moses’ role meant carrying a weight he had never lifted. Scripture shows God speaking strength into him.
Not comfort. Not sympathy. Command.
Strength and courage were not suggestions. They were divine impartations anchored in presence. God did not promise ease.
He promised companionship. A man becomes courageous not by suppressing fear but by believing the One who walks beside him. Joshua had watched Moses lead, but now he would learn firsthand that courage comes from obedience.
The land before him was filled with uncertainty, yet God’s presence filled the space behind him. That was enough. A man grows when he realizes that every step taken in obedience is taken with God at his side.
Father, fill me with courage where fear tries to rise. Strengthen me to walk into every assignment You give. Remind me that Your presence is my confidence.
