“The Lord is good, a refuge in times of trouble.”
Nahum 1:7 NIV
Nahum highlights God’s goodness in a season marked by judgment and upheaval. Scripture teaches that God remains a refuge even when life shakes. A man becomes steady when he runs to God as his shelter rather than his own solutions.
Refuge means safety, covering, protection. God does not promise trouble free living, but He promises Himself as a place of safety within it. Nahum reminds men that goodness is not measured by circumstances but by God’s nature.
When storms rise, God becomes the safe place. A man develops confidence when he learns to hide in God, not escape from life.
Father, be my refuge in every storm. Cover me with Your peace and protection. Strengthen my trust in Your goodness.
