“But solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil.”
Hebrews 5:14 NIV
Discernment is spiritual perception sharpened by obedience. Maturity grows through practice—listening, testing, and aligning with Scripture. The Spirit guards leaders from deception by developing discernment.
Gratitude keeps discernment humble; thankful hearts remain teachable. The church at Thyatira tolerated false prophecy because it stopped discerning. When the Word no longer defines truth, compromise enters quietly.
True discernment protects love from naïveté and truth from cruelty. Every believer must test voices by the character of Christ and the clarity of His Word.
Holy Spirit, train my heart to recognize Your voice. Guard me from deception and guide me in truth. Amen.
Discernment is wisdom with vision.
