“The joy of the Lord is your strength.”
Joy is not the absence of sorrow but the presence of perspective. Nehemiah’s people wept as they heard God’s Word, realizing how far they had fallen, yet Ezra urged them to celebrate because forgiveness had come. Repentance opened the door for rejoicing.
The Spirit’s joy flows from restoration, not circumstance. It is the strength that sustains leaders when results are unseen. Paul’s letters, written from prison, overflowed with joy because his chains advanced the gospel.
Gratitude fuels this inner gladness; complaining drains it. Joy refuses to let pain define the day. When we remember that our names are written in heaven, we rise above discouragement.
A joyful believer leads with hope, and hope multiplies influence. The world measures success by comfort; heaven measures it by contentment. Joy, born of gratitude, is unshakable strength.
Lord, restore to me the joy of Your salvation. Let praise replace worry and hope replace fear. Amen.
Joy is the leader’s renewable energy—choose it daily and you’ll never run empty.
