CHANGE HAPPENS IN DEGREES

Why Hasn't God Changed Me Yet?

THUMBNAIL HOOK SLOW ISN'T STUCK
OPENING HOOK
You can be growing slowly without being spiritually stuck.
CENTRAL DOCTRINE

Progressive sanctification.

TEACHING SPINE

Three movements.

  1. Conversion is decisive; maturity is usually progressive.
  2. Slow growth can still be real growth when direction is toward Christ.
  3. The Spirit often transforms patterns over time through truth, obedience, community, discipline, and trials.
KEEP THE BALANCE

What this teaching must not distort.

Do not use gradual growth to excuse cherished sin or refusal to repent. Progress can be slow without becoming complacent.

LAND THE LINE
Do not confuse incomplete transformation with absent transformation. Keep walking with Christ.
