GRACE DIDN'T SHRUG AT SIN

Why the Cross Proves God Takes Sin Seriously

THUMBNAIL HOOK GRACE COST BLOOD
OPENING HOOK
Cheap grace says sin did not matter. The cross says it mattered enough for the Son of God to give Himself for us.
CENTRAL DOCTRINE

Atonement and costly grace. Forgiveness is free to us because Christ bore its cost.

TEACHING SPINE

Three movements.

  1. Grace is not God pretending sin does not matter.
  2. At the cross, justice and mercy meet in Christ.
  3. The seriousness of sin is measured by the price Christ willingly paid to redeem sinners.
KEEP THE BALANCE

What this teaching must not distort.

Avoid language that divides the Father and Son. The triune God acts in unified love and justice in redemption.

LAND THE LINE
Grace did not lower God's holiness. Grace brought sinners to a Savior who fulfilled what we could not.
