EPISODE 02CONFRONTATION

JUSTIFICATION IS A VERDICT

Does God Still Judge Christians for Their Sin?

THUMBNAIL HOOK STILL ON TRIAL?
OPENING HOOK
If God justified you in Christ, why do so many Christians live as if heaven reopens their case every morning?
CENTRAL DOCTRINE

Justification. God declares the believer righteous in Christ on the basis of Christ's work, not fluctuating performance.

TEACHING SPINE

Three movements.

  1. Justification is a courtroom declaration, not an emotional state.
  2. Christ bore condemnation; believers are not repeatedly retried for the same debt.
  3. The Father still disciplines His children, but discipline is not judicial condemnation.
KEEP THE BALANCE

What this teaching must not distort.

Distinguish final condemnation from fatherly discipline and from the believer's future evaluation for faithfulness.

LAND THE LINE
Your feelings can fluctuate. The verdict secured by Christ does not.
