“For I myself am a man under authority.”
The centurion understood authority with clarity. Scripture shows him approaching Jesus with humility and faith, recognizing that true authority flows from submission. He saw that Jesus’ power came from alignment with the Father.
Many men desire authority but resist submission. The centurion teaches that leadership is built on surrender. A man under God’s authority carries influence that does not need to demand respect.
Jesus honored the centurion’s faith because it revealed understanding and humility. A man becomes more dangerous to darkness when he stands under God’s command. Authority flows through alignment, never through independence.
Submission is not weakness. It is structure.
Father, bring my life under Your authority. Teach me humility in leadership. Strengthen me to follow Your command so that I may lead with integrity.
