“For the Lord relented because of their groaning under those who oppressed and afflicted them.”
Judges 2:18 NIV
Scripture reveals that God responds to the cries of His people. Oppression humbled Israel, but groaning moved God to compassion. A man becomes aware of God’s mercy when he sees how God listens to suffering.
Judges teaches that God is moved by genuine repentance and heartfelt cries. A man learns that God is not distant from pain. He hears.
He relents. He restores. God’s compassion breaks cycles of oppression and brings relief to the humble.
Father, hear my cries and show me Your compassion. Deliver me from what oppresses me. Restore my strength through Your mercy.
