“Clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ.”
Paul uses the imagery of clothing to describe transformation. Scripture reveals that a man must intentionally put on Christ in attitudes, actions, and desires. Clothing oneself with Christ means embracing His character, His truth, and His way.
A man becomes renewed when he chooses Christlike conduct daily. The old self must be removed. The new self must be embraced.
Paul teaches that transformation is both spiritual and practical. A man clothes himself with Christ when he chooses gentleness over anger, truth over deception, purity over compromise, and love over indifference. Christ becomes the visible covering of his life.
Father, help me clothe myself with Christ each day. Let His character cover my actions and thoughts. Shape me into His likeness.
